WHAT IS A TATTOO CONVENTION?

• A tattoo convention is a gathering of many tattoo artists and collectors who come together from all over the world to share their artwork and create new pieces. Live tattooing, and a variety of different forms of entertainment serve as the main attraction, while vendors offer a plethora of goods for sale such as t-shirts, artwork, jewelry, and accessories. Additionally, daily tattoo contests, competitions, music, after parties and performances flesh out the schedule

WHERE TO BUY TICKETS?

ARE PETS ALLOWED ?

• NO. In accordance with current health regulations, no animal may be accepted within the Convention. We strongly advice you to leave your animal at home. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR ANIMAL IN YOUR CAR while visiting bergen Tattoo Convention. 

CAN I GET TATTOOED AT THE CONVENTION?

• Yes! Absolutely. Hundreds of artists from all over the world come for that very reason. To tattoo YOU! Bergen Tattoo Convention is an opportunity to get tattooed by artists from all over world. The tattoo artists are there to inform you and tattoo you if you wish. View the artist portfolios and contact your artist directly to book ahead of time. Or just show up and find an artist who is free! The organizing team of the convention does not manage appointments with tattoo artists.

IS THE ENTRANCE FREE OF CHARGE IF WE INKED ?

• NO. No free admission is provided for visitors getting tattooed at the event. The realization of tattoos concerns only tattooists, and the settlement of tattoos is made exclusively with the artist who made them.

CAN WE EAT AND DRINK DURING THE SHOW ?

• YES. During the 3 days of the event, food stand are at your disposal to restore you at any time of the day.
  

GET INKED WITHOUT APPOINTMENT

• If you do not want to make an appointment or the artist you have contacted is not available, you may be tattooed on site, “Flash” tattoos are proposed by the artists. A “Flash” tattoo; is a tattoo pattern already drawn by the artist and presented for the convention to get tattooed on whom wishes. The motive will be tattooed as it is, without modification.

WHAT IS THE PRICE FOR A TATTOO ?

• The prices of the tattoos are not determined by the event organizer. All tattoo artists are independent and they decide the price of their tattoos. We decline all responsibility in the pricing of the tattoos. No free entry is provided for visitors who are tattooed at Bergen Tattoo Convention. The implementation of tattoos concerns only the tattoo artists and their clients, and the regulation of the tattoos is done exclusively with the artist who perform them (in cash only for the majority).

CAN I COME WITH A STROLLER?

• Yes, Bergen Tattoo Convention is an event open to all. You can come with your children, even at a young age.

I AM GETTING TATTOOED AT THE SHOW, DO I STILL NEED TO BUY A TICKET?

• Yes, you still need a ticket to enter the show. Ticket admissions help cover the cost of putting on the event.

CAN I GET TATTOOED IF IM UNDER 18 ?

• No. To get tattooed at the convention you must be 18 or older. Teens and kids are welcome to attend the convention in general though.

 WHO IS TAKING BOOKINGS?

• Many artists will be taking walk-ups at the event. You can also contact artists ahead of the event.

CAN I PAY WITH CREDIT CARD?

• Most artists only accept cash so we recommend bringing cash. There will be ATMs on site but it’s best to grab cash ahead of time.

WHAT ELSE IS HAPPENING AT THE CONVENTION?

• There will be live tattooing and amazing artwork and merch for purchase as well as more vendors, food, bands and more!

IS IT SAFE TO BE TATTOOED AT A CONVENTION?

• It is definitely safe. Every artist has training and certification designed to ensure a safe experience for you and for the artist. We supply everything needed to ensure a sterilized work space. We also encourage people with fresh tattoos to follow all after care instructions as provided by their artist to ensure the best healing of their tattoo. Everyone tattooing at the BTC is working directly under Norsk Tattoo Union‘s strict regulations.

  In addition to these being some of the strictest rules in the country, Single-use needles and disposable barrier products are mandatory and ensure a sterile working environment.

DO I NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO TATTOO?

• In a word...no. You can if you want to and it's a good idea, but not mandatory. You can either contact the artist directly in advance or come down and look around. Find an artist whose work you like and book some time with him or her.

CAN I GET TATTOOED FOR FREE?

• Sorry, no. This is how the artists make a living.

I DON’T WANT TO GET A TATTOO, WHAT ELSE CAN I DO AT THE CONVENTION?

• Good question! There is lots to do at our convention. Other than exploring tattoo art, you can shop for clothing and jewelry. Check out motorcycles or listen to music. You can people watch and meet celebrities and generally be surrounded by many friendly people.

DO I NEED TO BUY TICKET AHEAD?

• No. You can purchase tickets at the door or online before the event! 

CAN I DRINK ALCOHOL WHILE GETTING A TATTOO?

• NO. Alcohol is a blood-thinner, will make your tattoo bleed excessively, and complicate the process of receiving and healing your piece. Plan on eating a good meal prior to getting tattooed and leave the drinking to people not getting any work done.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST FOR GETTING A TATTOO?

• Prices vary from artist to artist and are completely at their discretion. Small tattoos may range from $50 to $100 with average hourly rates ranging from $100 to $250. Also, keep in mind that it is customary to tip an artist anywhere from 10 to 30 percent if you feel he or she did an outstanding job.

I AM ATTENDING AS A AN ARTIST, WHEN CAN I SET UP MY VENDOR?

• Vendor load-in is:

AS AN ARTIST, CAN I SELL THINGS OTHER THAN TATTOOS IN MY BOOTH?

• Absolutely! You are welcome to sell artwork, stickers, merchandise, etc. from your booth.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

• Bring everything you usually need for a tattoo session. Cables, lights etc.
